Got the kitchen painted today. It looks so good! We used a gallon of Behr paint I got off of the mistints table when we still lived in Michigan. I think the best way to describe it is "French gray." When you look at it you think it is almost white, but then maybe gray, or is it white? lol I will post some pictures tomorrow. As part of painting, we cleaned and scrubbed the kitchen and laundry room, so that was a very good thing!
Other than that, laundry and (another) trip to Walmart and a salvage store is just about all I accomplished. Oh, and I burned the heck out of my hand. I was making dinner and turned the oven on, opened it and saw that two cast iron pans were in there. I grabbed one out and when I went to grab the second one grabbed the hot coil instead of the cold pan. The good thing is that I had just turned the oven on. The bad thing is that the coil gets hot fast. Luckily, it isn't as bad as it could have been.
Tomorrow we are going on a field trip to a local confederate cemetery and to the cemetery where the "Gypsy Queen" and her family is buried. The boys might go to the homeschool skate and then are going to a lock-in with the youth group they have been participating with. (Yes, they know we are the family of atheists!)
If the boys don't go to the skate (there was talk of coming home and taking a nap so that they can stay up all night) I will make the pot pie then. If not, I will wait until we get back.
So, that will give us: 8 meals of pulled pork, 5 meals of taco meat and 6 meals of turkey pot pie filling. I still want to make grilled chicken breasts, Valeria's sauce (the only sauce 2 of my kids will eat), hamburgers (I will just buy the preformed fresh burgers from Sam's and FoodSaver them), Greek Chicken, and... not sure what else.
I will also spend tomorrow finishing my to-do list from today. Ugh! I don;t know if that thing will ever go away!
